Part 2Licensing of deposit takers
Key provisions
13No holding out as licensed
A person that is not licensed as a deposit taker must not, directly or indirectly, hold out that the person is a licensed deposit taker.

If you are not licensed as a deposit taker, you must not say or do anything that makes people think you are. This means you cannot pretend to be a licensed deposit taker, either directly or indirectly. You have to be honest about whether you are licensed or not.
