This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Fast-track Approvals Bill

Fast-track approval approvals process for eligible projects - Process for panel consideration of substantive application - Provisions relating to information

24J: EPA may request information from relevant administering agencies and local authorities

You could also call this:

“EPA can ask for important project information from other agencies”

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) can ask for information from agencies and local authorities that manage projects. This information must be about a Part A listed project or a referred project. It also needs to be important for looking at a current or future application.

You can ask for this information at any time, even before you get the main application. When you ask, you can set a date for when you need the information.

The agency or local authority must do one of three things:

  1. Give you the information by the date you set.
  2. Tell you they will give you the information, but not by the date you set.
  3. Tell you they don’t have the information. If they know who has it, they should tell you.

If they can’t give you the information by the date you set, they must give it to you as soon as they can.
