This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Fast-track Approvals Bill

Fast-track approval approvals process for eligible projects - Process for panel consideration of substantive application - Suspension of processing substantive application

24SA: Resumption in processing of substantive application following suspension under section 24S

You could also call this:

“Restarting a paused application for approval”

If you have been given permission to pause your application under section 24S(3), you can ask the EPA in writing to start looking at it again. This is called resuming the processing of your application.

When you ask for this, the panel of people looking at your application must start working on it again as soon as they can.

Sometimes, the panel might decide to start working on your application again even if you haven’t asked them to. They can do this under section 24T(2)(b).

If the panel starts working on your application again, the EPA must tell everyone who was told about the pause that the work has started again. They will send a letter that says when the panel began working on it.

If you were one of the people told about the pause, and you get a letter saying the work has started again, you must also start working on the application again if you were involved in processing it.
