Fast-track Approvals Act 2024

Fast-track approvals process - Panel consideration of substantive application

40: Process under this Act applies instead of process under specified Act

You could also call this:

“This Act's process replaces normal approval steps for faster decisions”

When you want to get an approval under this new law, you’ll use the process described in this Act instead of the normal process used in other laws. This includes any steps mentioned in subpart 2 of this Act.

If you’re trying to get permission for aquaculture (like fish farming), you’ll also use the process in this Act instead of the usual process in the Fisheries Act 1996. This applies when you’re seeking a resource consent for aquaculture activities.

The main idea is that this new law creates a special, faster way to get approvals. Instead of following the usual steps in other laws, you’ll follow the steps laid out in this Act.
