This page is about a bill. That means that it's not the law yet, but some people want it to be the law. It could change quickly, and some of the information is just a draft.

Fast-track Approvals Bill

Fast-track approval approvals process for eligible projects - Process for panel consideration of substantive application

24B: Process under this Act applies instead of process under specified Act

You could also call this:

“This law's approval process replaces other laws' processes for certain projects”

This part of the law explains how the approval process works for certain projects. When you apply for approval under this law, you don’t need to follow the usual process that other laws might require. Instead, you follow the process set out in this law. This applies to any approvals that are similar to the ones covered by this law.

The same idea applies to aquaculture decisions. If you’re applying for a resource consent that involves aquaculture, you follow the process in this law instead of the one in the Fisheries Act 1996.

Remember, this only applies when you’re seeking approval under this specific law. It’s designed to make the process simpler by using one set of rules instead of many different ones.
