You could also call this:

"The EPA can pause your application if you haven't paid their costs, and will restart it when you pay."

Illustration for Fast-track Approvals Act 2024

The EPA can stop working on your application if you have not paid the costs they can claim. They must tell the panel, local authorities, and you that they have stopped working on it. They must also tell the person who is giving them advice or a report, if that has not been provided yet, and the chief executive who is making a recommendation, if that has not been made yet. They must tell anyone who has been asked to comment on your application as well.

If you pay the costs, the EPA must start working on your application again and tell everyone they told about the stoppage. When the EPA stops or starts working on your application, they must tell the panel and the people giving advice or making recommendations, and those people must also stop or start working on it.

The EPA will only start working on your application again after you have paid the costs they can claim, and they will tell everyone about it.
