Fast-track Approvals Act 2024

Fast-track approvals process - Panel consideration of substantive application - Suspension of processing substantive application

61: EPA may direct suspension in processing substantive application

You could also call this:

“EPA can pause your application if you don't pay the fees”

If you don’t pay the costs that the EPA can recover, they might pause the processing of your application. The EPA will let the panel, local authorities, you (the applicant), and other important people know about this pause.

If you later pay the costs, the EPA will start working on your application again. They will tell everyone who was informed about the pause that they’ve started working on it again.

The panel and some other people involved must stop working on your application when the EPA tells them to pause. They’ll start working on it again when the EPA says it’s okay to continue.
