Fast-track Approvals Act 2024

Fast-track approvals process - Panel consideration of substantive application - Role of appropriate Minister in relation to concessions, land exchanges, and access arrangements

77: Panel informs appropriate Minister of proposed decision

You could also call this:

“Panel tells Minister about their planned decision and reminds them they can take over”

Before a panel decides on an approval for land under section 81, they must tell the EPA to let the right Minister know about it. The EPA needs to tell the Minister two things. First, they need to explain what decision the panel plans to make about the approval. Second, they need to remind the Minister that they can call in the decision under section 74. This means the Minister can take over the decision if they want to.
