Trade Marks Act 2002

Preliminary

6: Meaning of use of sign

You could also call this:

"What counts as using a sign for goods or services"

In this law, when you see the word 'sign', it means different things depending on what it's used for. If a sign is used for goods, it means the sign is on the goods or connected to them in some way. For services, using a sign means it's used when providing or offering those services. Also, using a sign can include hearing it, not just seeing it. This applies to both goods and services. Remember, these meanings are used throughout the law unless it's clear that something else is meant.
