202: Repeal of Trade Marks Act 1953

You could also call this:

"The old Trade Marks Act is cancelled, but some rules from it still work"

The Trade Marks Act 1953 is no longer in effect. It has been cancelled. However, two important orders that were made under that old Act are still valid. These orders are called the Prohibited Marks Order 1961 and the Prohibited Marks Order 1982. Even though the old Act is gone, these orders continue to work as if the old Act was still around. You can still change or cancel these orders in the same way you could when the old Act was in place.
