Legal proceedings - Border protection measures - Delegation of chief executive's powers, duties, and functions

157: Protection of persons acting under authority of Act

You could also call this:

"Protection for people following the rules of this law"

You are protected from legal trouble if you do something, or don't do something, for the purpose of certain sections of this law. This protection applies to the government, the chief executive, and any Customs officer.

The sections of the law that this protection covers are 135A, 135B, and 146 to 156. It also covers any rules made for these sections.

However, this protection doesn't apply if you acted in bad faith. This means if you did something wrong on purpose, you can still get in trouble.
