You cannot smoke or vape in most parts of a casino. The person in charge of the casino must make sure you do not smoke or vape in areas that are not open. You are not allowed to smoke or vape in closed areas of a casino. The person in charge can also stop you from smoking or vaping in open areas of the casino if they want to. This rule is part of the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990, which was amended by the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Vaping) Amendment Act 2020.

13ASmoking and vaping in casinos

The holder of the casino operator's licence in respect of a casino must take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no person smokes or vapes at any time in any part of the casino that is not an open area.
Subsection (1) does not prevent the holder of the casino operator's licence in respect of a casino from prohibiting smoking or vaping in a part of the casino that is an open area.
No person may smoke or vape at any time in any part of a casino that is not an open area.
