10: Application of Act to ships

10Application of Act to ships

  1. This Act applies to a ship if, and only if, it is—

  2. a New Zealand ship that is within New Zealand; or
    1. a foreign ship that—
      1. is a ship on demise charter to a New Zealand-based operator; and
        1. is carrying coastal cargo within New Zealand; or
        2. a foreign ship that is carrying out mining operations within the meaning of the Crown Minerals Act 1991.
