57F: Limits on constituents of smoked tobacco products

You could also call this:

"Rules for what can and can't be in smoked tobacco products"

If you sell or make smoked tobacco products, you must follow the rules. You cannot sell or make a smoked tobacco product that has a bad thing in it that is not allowed by the law or regulations. You also cannot sell or make a smoked tobacco product that has too much of a certain thing in it, according to the tests that are used to check these things.

If you break this rule on purpose or by accident, you can get in trouble. You might have to pay a fine of up to $400,000 if you are found guilty. The rules about smoked tobacco products are part of the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990, which was amended by the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Smoked Tobacco) Amendment Act 2022.

You need to know what is allowed and what is not allowed in smoked tobacco products, so you can follow the law and avoid getting in trouble.
