Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990

Regulated products that must be notified

67: When notifiable product must be renotified

You could also call this:

"When you need to update a product's notification if it changes in a big way"

If you have already notified a product, you must renotify it if the product changes significantly. You must cancel the old notification and complete a new one that shows the changes to the product. This new notification must be done as soon as possible.

A significant change can be a change to the product's vaping substance, like a different composition or nicotine level. It can also be a change to the tobacco component, like a different composition or strength. Other changes, like a new atomiser or a change to another part of the product, can also be significant if they are specified in regulations.

You must follow these rules when a product changes in a significant way, as defined in the legislation, which was amended by the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (Vaping) Amendment Act 2020. This means you have to update the notification to reflect the new changes to the product. You do this by cancelling the old notification and sending in a new one.
