Notification obligations
20RObligation of person selling notifiable products
A person who sells notifiable products in New Zealand must notify the Director-General that they are selling the products and the name and address of each premises from which they are selling the products.
A person who sells notifiable products in New Zealand must renew their notification each year before the anniversary of their previous notification.
A notification (including a renewal of a notification) must be made on the database in accordance with requirements in regulations.
A person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to notify the Director-General that they are selling a notifiable product or fails to renew a notification commits an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
