Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990

Restrictions on advertising, promotion, sale, and distribution of regulated products - Sale of regulated products by way of automatic vending machines

48: Automatic vending machines must display health messages required by or under this Act

You could also call this:

"Vending machines selling certain products must show health warning messages."

If you sell a regulated product from a vending machine that people can see, you must display health messages on the machine. You have to show these messages even if only you or your employees can use the machine. You must display the health messages in the way the regulations say.

If you sell a regulated product from a vending machine and do not display the required health messages, you can get in trouble. You might have to pay a fine of up to $5,000 if you do not have a good reason for not showing the messages.

You still have to follow other rules, like those in section 47, even if you display the health messages on your vending machine.
