When you are a care recipient, a specialist assessor looks at your condition and gives a certificate. The specialist assessor must send a copy of this certificate to your care manager and to the co-ordinator. If you are a special care recipient, the specialist assessor also sends the certificate to the Director-General. The specialist assessor sends their reasons for their opinion on your condition and any relevant reports from other specialist assessors.

The specialist assessor must give or send these documents as they are required to do so under section 79. This means you get to see what the specialist assessor thinks about your condition. The specialist assessor's opinion helps decide what care you need.

You can see the specialist assessor's certificate and reports because they send them to the people who help you with your care. These people use the information to make sure you get the right care. The specialist assessor's documents are an important part of making sure you receive the care you need.
