Illustration for Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003

If you are a child or young person and there is an order made about you under the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, this order does not stop the rules of the Intellectual Disability Act from applying to you. You will still be subject to the rules of this Act. This means that both the order under the Oranga Tamariki Act and the rules of the Intellectual Disability Act can apply to you at the same time.
