33A: Appointment of product safety officers

The chief executive can choose people to be product safety officers. To become a product safety officer, you need to pass tests that show you understand the law and what product safety officers do.

The chief executive can also make someone a trainee product safety officer. Trainees don’t need to have passed the tests yet.

When a trainee product safety officer works under the watch of a full product safety officer, they are treated the same as a regular product safety officer for this law.
