Fair Trading Act 1986

6: Functions of Commission in relation to dissemination of information

You could also call this:

“Commission's job is to help people understand buying and selling rules”

The Commission has some extra jobs to do besides what the law already tells them. These jobs are about helping people understand their rights and responsibilities under this law.

You should know that the Commission will make information available to help people who buy and sell things. They will also provide information to help consumers understand their rights. This means you and other people can learn about what you’re allowed to do and what others should do for you.

The Commission will also study things that affect consumers and write reports about them. This helps everyone understand what’s happening in the world of buying and selling.

Lastly, the Commission will work with other groups to create and encourage good ways of doing business. This is to make sure everyone follows the rules in this law.
