Fair Trading Act 1986

Enforcement and remedies - Jurisdiction of courts

39: Jurisdiction of Disputes Tribunal

You could also call this:

“The Disputes Tribunal can help with some problems under this law”

The Disputes Tribunal, which is set up by the government, can make decisions about certain issues under this law. The Tribunal can hear and decide on applications for orders mentioned in section 43 of this Act. This means that if you have a problem that falls under section 43, you might be able to take it to the Disputes Tribunal for help.

However, it’s important to know that this rule about the Disputes Tribunal’s power is affected by another part of the law, section 43B. This means that section 43B might change or limit what the Disputes Tribunal can do in some cases.
