80: Agreements with Sport and Recreation New Zealand

You could also call this:

“TAB NZ can make deals with Sport NZ to allow betting on sports without official NZ groups”

This law talks about sports betting when there’s no proper New Zealand sports group in charge. It applies to sports where people compete in legal games or contests, both in New Zealand and other countries.

If there’s no New Zealand sports group that runs the sport or organises the events in New Zealand, TAB NZ can still do sports betting. But they need to make a deal with Sport and Recreation New Zealand first.

This deal between TAB NZ and Sport and Recreation New Zealand needs to include how they’ll share the money from sports betting. They can decide together on the details of this agreement.

Remember, TAB NZ can only do this kind of betting if they have this special agreement in place. It’s a way to make sure sports betting is fair when there’s no official New Zealand sports group involved.
