Racing Industry Act 2020

Racing - Racing New Zealand, racing codes, and racing clubs - Racing New Zealand

11: Servicing and funding of Racing New Zealand

You could also call this:

“Racing groups help manage and pay for Racing New Zealand”

Racing New Zealand needs help to run smoothly, and the racing codes are responsible for this. You might be wondering what ‘racing codes’ are - these are different types of racing, like horse racing or greyhound racing.

The racing codes have to provide administrative services to Racing New Zealand. This means they help with tasks like paperwork and organising things. They can do this in two ways. One way is that each racing code takes turns to provide these services for a set amount of time. The other way is that the racing codes can agree on a different method that works for them.

When it comes to money, the racing codes also have to pay for Racing New Zealand’s operations. They need to decide together how they will share this cost. This means they have to agree on who pays what to keep Racing New Zealand running.
