Racing Industry Act 2020

Racing - Transfer of assets and surplus venues - Transfer of surplus venues

29: Minister must not recommend order under section 27 if special circumstances exist

You could also call this:

“Minister can't suggest closing a racing venue if it's important to the community”

If you are the Minister, you must think about certain things mentioned in section 28(3) before making a decision. These things are about how a surplus venue (like a racing track that’s not used anymore) is used or could be used by the local community. If you think there are special reasons why the community needs or uses this place, you can’t suggest that an order be made under section 27. This rule is there to protect places that are important to the community.
