Racing Industry Act 2020

Racing - Racing New Zealand, racing codes, and racing clubs - Racing New Zealand

12: Delegation of functions and powers by racing codes

You could also call this:

“Racing groups can share some of their tasks with Racing New Zealand”

A racing code is a group that runs a type of racing, like horse racing. The law says that a racing code can give some of its jobs or powers to Racing New Zealand. This is called delegation. When a racing code does this, it must write it down.

If a racing code gives a job or power to Racing New Zealand, it can set rules about how Racing New Zealand should do that job or use that power. The racing code can also take back the job or power at any time by writing a note.

Racing New Zealand is not allowed to pass on any jobs or powers it gets from a racing code to anyone else. They must do these jobs themselves.
