This law about ‘Preparations for coining’ used to be part of the Crimes Act 1961. It was in the section about ‘Arson, damage, and waste’. However, this law no longer exists. It was removed on 1 October 2003 by another law called the Crimes Amendment Act 2003. This means that whatever this law used to say about preparing to make coins is no longer in effect.
