New Zealand law explained for everyone

411: Consequential amendments
or “Changes are made to other laws to make sure they match this new law.”

You could also call this:

“ This part explains which old laws are being removed and which ones are being kept when the new law starts. ”

When this law starts, some older laws will stop working in New Zealand. You can find a list of these laws in Schedule 4.

This law also cancels some other laws completely. You can see which ones in Schedule 5.

These changes help keep New Zealand’s laws up to date by removing old rules that aren’t needed anymore.
