This part of the law was about paying for witnesses when a court case was moved to a different place because the government wanted it to. However, this rule doesn’t exist anymore. It was taken out of the Crimes Act 1961 on 1 July 2013. This means that if you need to know about paying for witnesses in this situation now, you’ll need to look at other, more current laws.
