Crimes Act 1961

Crimes against the person - Murder, manslaughter, etc

174: Counselling or attempting to procure murder

You could also call this:

“Encouraging or trying to get someone else to kill a person, even if the killing doesn't happen, is against the law.”

If you encourage, advise, or try to get someone to kill another person in New Zealand, you can be punished. This is true even if the murder doesn’t actually happen. The law says you could go to prison for up to 10 years for doing this. Remember, this only applies when the planned murder is supposed to happen in New Zealand.
