Procedure - General power to stop vehicles to exercise statutory search powers
314D: Offences relating to stopping vehicles under section 314B
You could also call this:
“This law about getting in trouble for not stopping your car when asked was removed and is no longer used.”
This section of the law, called ‘Offences relating to stopping vehicles under section 314B’, was part of the Crimes Act 1961. It talked about what would happen if you did something wrong when the police stopped your vehicle. However, this part of the law doesn’t exist anymore. It was removed on 1 October 2012 when a new law called the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 came into effect. This means that if you want to know about the rules for stopping vehicles now, you need to look at the new law instead of this old one.
