9Committees
The Minister may from time to time appoint 1 or more committees for the purposes of this Act, each such committee to exercise on his or her behalf such powers and functions under this Act as may be delegated to it pursuant to section 10, or to advise him or her either as to matters within his or her jurisdiction generally, or in any particular case or matter or any particular class of cases or matters, or on the administration of any reserves or group of reserves. In the exercise of its powers, every committee shall be under the control of the Minister.
A committee may consist entirely of officers of the Department or partly of officers of the Department and partly of other persons, or may consist entirely of persons who are not officers of the Department.
The Minister may appoint the Authority or any conservation board to be a committee for the purposes of this section.
There shall be paid, out of money appropriated by Parliament for the purpose, to the members of any committee who are not members by virtue of being officers of any department of State remuneration by way of fees, salary, or allowances and travelling allowances and expenses in accordance with the Fees and Travelling Allowances Act 1951, and the provisions of that Act shall apply accordingly as if the committee were a statutory board within the meaning of that Act.
