If you break certain rules in the Reserves Act 1977, you can get in trouble. You might have done something wrong if you did things you were not allowed to do on reserves, like what is said in section 94(1)(a) to (k), (l), and (m), or if you did not follow the rules about animals, vehicles, aircraft, or boats, like what is said in section 94(2)(a), (b), (d), and (da). You can also get in trouble if you started a fire without permission, like what is said in section 97(1), or if you hurt or got in the way of rangers, like what is said in section 98(b), or if you got in the way of officers, like what is said in section 100(5).

If you are found guilty, you might have to go to prison for up to 2 years, or pay a fine of up to $100,000, or both. If you are a company, you might have to pay a fine of up to $200,000. If you keep doing something wrong, you might have to pay an extra fine of up to $10,000 for each day you keep doing it.

You should know what the rules are so you do not get in trouble, and you can find more information about the rules in the Reserves Act 1977, and about the Conservation (Natural Heritage Protection) Act 2013, which changed some of the rules.
