Illustration for Reserves Act 1977

If you break a rule in a reserve, a constable, ranger, or other officer can stop you. They can tell you to stop doing what you are doing. If you do not stop, you can get in trouble with the law. You might have to tell the officer your name, address, and date of birth. You might also have to prove who you are. If you do not do what the officer says, you can get in trouble with the law and even be arrested. When an officer arrests you, they have to take you to court as soon as possible. The officer will show you a special card or paper to prove they are allowed to arrest you. In this case, an officer is a constable, ranger, or someone who works for the group in charge of the reserve and is allowed to make decisions.
