Illustration for Reserves Act 1977

The Minister can decide to use money meant for one reserve for another reserve instead. You need to know that the Minister must get written consent from the group managing the reserve first. The Minister can use the money to manage, administer, maintain, protect, improve, or develop another reserve.

The Minister can also use the money to buy or lease land for a reserve, or for a conservation covenant. This can happen for a certain period of time, and the money must be used for the purposes of another reserve. The Minister makes these decisions with the written consent of the administering body.

If a reserve is not managed by a group, the Minister can decide on their own how to use the money. The Minister can use the money for the purposes already mentioned, like managing another reserve or buying land. The Minister has the sole discretion to make these decisions.
