Illustration for Human Rights Act 1993

If someone tries to stop you from marrying or entering into a civil union or de facto relationship because of the colour, race, or ethnic or national origins of the person you want to be with, that condition is not allowed. You can still marry or enter into a relationship with whoever you choose, no matter what someone else says. This rule is in place to protect your rights and make sure you are treated fairly.
