The Human Rights Review Tribunal is a group that was already set up by the Human Rights Commission Act 1977. You can find out more about this in section 45 of the Human Rights Commission Act 1977. This group used to be called the Complaints Review Tribunal, but it was renamed the Human Rights Review Tribunal on 1 January 2002, after the Human Rights Amendment Act 2001 came into effect.
