You can have a complaint referred to the Proceedings Commissioner. This happens under section 75(g) or section 82(1)(c) of the Human Rights Act. The Director must then decide what to do next. If the Commissioner has not made a decision, the Director decides whether to help you with your complaint under section 90(1)(c). If the Commissioner decided to start proceedings, the Director helps you with the proceedings. If the Commissioner decided not to start proceedings, the Director is deemed to have made that decision. The Proceedings Commissioner makes decisions about complaints. You can find more information about this in the Human Rights Act, under sections like section 75(g) and section 82(1)(c). The Director's decisions are based on these sections, like section 90(1)(c).
