You can stop being an office holder in several ways. You can resign by giving the Minister a written notice that says when you want to stop being an office holder. If you die, you automatically stop being an office holder. You also stop being an office holder if you are declared bankrupt under the Insolvency Act 2006. The Governor-General can remove you from the office at any time if you are not able to do your job, if you neglect your duties, or if you behave badly.
