Student Loan Scheme Act 2011

Preliminary matters, loan advances, and New Zealand-based and overseas-based borrowers - Determining whether borrowers are New Zealand-based or overseas-based

24: Treatment of partial days

You could also call this:

"How part-days in New Zealand count for student loans"

When it comes to counting days for student loans, even if you're only in New Zealand for part of a day, it counts as if you were there for the whole day. This means that if you spend any time in New Zealand on a particular day, it's treated as if you were there for all 24 hours. Also, on that same day, it's considered that you weren't absent from New Zealand at all, even if you were away for part of it. This rule applies to specific sections of the student loan laws.
