Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017

Contracts legislation - Contractual mistakes

29: Court may grant relief to person claiming through or under party

You could also call this:

“Court can help people connected to someone in a contract”

The court can help not just people who are part of a contract, but also others who are connected to them. If the court can give relief to someone who is directly involved in a contract, it can also give relief to people who have a claim through that person. This applies to the situations described in sections 24 to 26 of the law. For example, if you’re not part of the contract but you have a valid claim because of someone who is, the court might be able to help you too.
