Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017

Contracts legislation - Illegal contracts - Restraints of trade

84: Law relating to restraint of trade and to ouster of jurisdiction not affected

You could also call this:

“Rules for special contracts that limit your actions or court options stay the same”

This part of the law doesn’t change how the law works for certain types of contracts. It’s talking about two specific kinds of contracts:

  1. Contracts that limit what you can do in business or trade.
  2. Contracts that say you can’t go to court to solve a problem.

The law for these types of contracts stays the same as it was before. This means that if you have one of these contracts, the rules haven’t changed.

However, there’s one exception to this. The law mentions that section 83 might change things a bit. So, if you’re dealing with these kinds of contracts, you might need to check what section 83 says too.
