This part of the law aims to make it easier for you to use electronic technology. It does this in a few ways. First, it tries to clear up any confusion about how information that’s in electronic form, or sent electronically, is treated legally. It also helps you understand when and where electronic messages are considered sent and received. Lastly, it allows you to use electronic methods to meet certain legal requirements that traditionally needed paper documents. These electronic methods need to work in a way that’s similar to the paper versions.
