The rest of the Act starts working on a date decided by the government, or five years after the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 is agreed to. 2Commencement

  1. This Act comes into force as follows:

  2. section 147 (which contains regulation-making powers) comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent:
    1. the following provisions (which contain regulation-making powers) come into force on the day after the date on which the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 receives the Royal assent:
      1. clause 19 of Schedule 1 and section 6 (but only for the purpose of giving effect to clause 19):
        1. section 147A:
        2. the rest of this Act comes into force—
          1. on 1 or more dates set by Order in Council; or
            1. to the extent not brought into force earlier, on the fifth anniversary of the date on which the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 receives the Royal assent.

            2. One or more Orders in Council may set different dates for different provisions (and, for that purpose, may commence a provision only for the purpose of giving effect to some, but not other, parts of this Act).

            3. An Order in Council made under this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 for publication requirements).
