67What legislation is drafted by PCO
The main functions of the PCO, in relation to drafting legislation, are—
- to draft Government Bills and amendments to them; and
- to advise on, or assist with, the drafting of local Bills and private Bills and amendments to them; and
- to draft Members’ Bills, and amendments to them, if the Attorney-General directs; and
- to draft the following:
- any secondary legislation made by Order in Council (unless the Attorney-General otherwise directs):
- any secondary legislation that amends an Act:
- any secondary legislation if the administering agency and the Chief Parliamentary Counsel agree:
- any secondary legislation if the Attorney-General directs; and
- any secondary legislation made by Order in Council (unless the Attorney-General otherwise directs):
- to draft, or advise on or assist in the drafting of, any other legislation that the Attorney-General directs.
