Legislation Act 2019

Disclosure requirements for Government-initiated legislation

110: Ministerial direction may be given to support consistent approach across agencies

You could also call this:

"The Minister can give instructions to government agencies to help them work in the same way."

The Minister in charge can give directions to help government agencies do things in a consistent way. You can think of a direction like a set of instructions that says what information must be included in a disclosure statement, or how it should be laid out. The Minister can tell agencies to include extra information, or to put it in a certain format, and this can include linking to information in section 104(1) or section 107.

When the Minister gives a direction, they must make sure it is published on a government website and shown to the House of Representatives as soon as possible. This helps keep everyone informed about what is happening. A direction can apply to one or more government agencies, and it can only be given if a notice under section 107 is already in place.

The Minister must also make sure the direction does not contradict any notices under section 107 or the Legislation Act 2019. This ensures that all the rules and instructions are consistent and easy to follow.
