Illustration for Legal Services Act 2011

The Secretary can check the services provided by a community law centre at any time. You need to know that this check is called an audit and it must be done by an auditor. The Secretary wants to see if the services are good and valuable. The audit helps the Secretary to assess the services funded by them. It also looks at other matters relevant to community legal services funded under this Act. The Secretary or auditor decides what matters are relevant. If an audit is done, the rules about sharing secret information are explained in Section 109. This section tells you how secret information can be shared during an audit. The Secretary follows these rules when doing an audit.
