You could also call this:

"The government can tell Crown agents what to do to follow its plans and rules."

Illustration for Crown Entities Act 2004

The Minister in charge of a Crown agent can tell the agent what to do to follow a government policy. This policy must be related to what the agent is supposed to do and its goals. You can find more information about how this direction works in sections like 114 and 115.

The Minister's direction must also follow some rules, which are explained in section 113. This means the Minister cannot just give any direction, it has to fit with what is already decided in section 113.

When the Minister gives a direction, it is like giving the agent a task to complete, and the agent must do it to follow the government policy.
