Crown Entities Act 2004

Operation of Crown entities - Statutory entities - Protections from liability of members, office holders, and employees

122: Indemnities in relation to excluded act or omission

You could also call this:

"Protection for people in statutory entities from costs of mistakes or wrongdoing"

If you are a member, office holder, or employee of a statutory entity, the entity may indemnify you. This means they may pay for costs related to an excluded act or omission you were involved in. The entity can help pay for costs of defending or settling a claim related to that act or omission, as stated in the Crown Entities Act 2004. You can find more information about changes to this rule in section 31 of the Crown Entities Amendment Act 2013. The statutory entity has the power to make this decision in relation to an excluded act or omission.
