Crown Entities Act 2004

Operation of Crown entities - Miscellaneous provisions

132: Review of Crown entity's operations and performance

You could also call this:

"Checking how well a government-owned business is working"

A responsible Minister can review how a Crown entity is working and how well it is performing at any time. You can think of a Crown entity like a government-owned business. The Minister's power to review does not limit the powers of review in the Public Service Act 2020 or the Public Audit Act 2001.

Before a Minister starts a review, they must talk to the Crown entity about what the review is for and what it will involve, and they must think about any comments the entity makes about the proposed review.

The Crown entity must do everything it reasonably can to help with the review.
