You can be moved from one residence to another if the chief executive decides it is necessary. The chief executive will make this decision after considering advice from the manager of the residence and any other relevant advice. You can be moved for several reasons, including to keep you or others safe, if your current residence is destroyed, or if you need fewer restrictions.

You might be moved to a residence closer to your family or to get the care you need, as outlined in your management plan. This could be for medical or psychiatric care, or to reduce the risk of you harming yourself. You could also be moved if you are at risk of being mistreated by other residents.

The chief executive can also decide to move you if you ask to be transferred to a different residence, or if your risk level has decreased and you can live with fewer restrictions. You can find more information about this by looking at the Public Safety Act and other related laws. The chief executive's decision will be based on your individual needs and circumstances.
