23: Residents may not possess prohibited items

You could also call this:

"No prohibited items allowed for residents, unless you have special permission."

Illustration for Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Act 2014

If you are a resident, you may not have a prohibited item. The manager of your residence will take a prohibited item away from you if they find it. They will keep the item if they think it is prohibited.

If the manager finds a prohibited item, they can decide what to do with it, such as give it to the Police, give it to someone who is entitled to it, or destroy it. The manager can search for prohibited items under section 63 or 64. They will follow the rules when deciding what to do with the item.

There is an exception to this rule. If you have permission to have an item under rules made under section 119, then you can have the item. This means you can have some items if you are allowed to have them.
